WHAT IS IT?

Hyaluronic acid, a sugar naturally present in the dermis fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers. Its hydrophilic properties enable it to attract water and thus contribute to the hydration and volumization of the skin. During the aging process, epidermal cells progressively lose their capacity to produce hyaluronic acid. This leads to a loss of volume and consequent accentuation of facial wrinkles and folds. In aesthetic medicine, hyaluronic acid is used as a correcting and sculpting agent to restore symmetry, volumes, and freshness to the face and smoothness to its skin.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE

After a detailed consultation, the doctor performs hyaluronic acid injections in the chosen areas using a flexible and blunt microcannula. The procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes with immediate results. NUMBER OF SESSIONS?

Varies according to needs. Once injected, hyaluronic acid has a life span of 9 to 18 months, after which it is gradually resorbed. To optimized results, a touch-up session may be necessary 15 to 30 days after the first treatment.

SIDE EFFECTS?

Redness, slight swelling, bruising and nodules may sometimes occur on the site of injection; these side effects are temporary. In cases of oedema or asymmetries, hyaluronidase, an enzyme capable of resorbing hyaluronic acid, may be injected.
