HIFU treatment is considered to be one of the most effective procedures of aesthetic medicine. HIFU permanently reduces wrinkles and it thickens and firms skin. A skin surface remains untouched, while deeply underneath intensive recovery and regeneration processes occur, stimulated by the breakdown caused by high-frequency acoustic waves. HIFU is a high intensity focused ultrasound wave that has been used in medicine for a long time. Originally, it was used as a method of non-surgical tumour treatment. Currently, the HIFU technology is excellent for morpho-aesthetic deep treatment – from 1.5 mm up to 4.5 mm – in non-invasive face lifting. Ultrasonic lifting is used to tone, lift, stretch, thicken and tighten sagging flabby skin located on a face, a neckline and other body parts. The abbreviation HIFU stands for high intensity focused ultrasound. The biggest advantage of the HIFU technology is the fact that external skin layers remain untouched (slight redness may sometimes occur). Therefore, convalescence is not necessary and you may return to your normal duties the next day after the treatment. The essence of the HIFU technology is the precise concentration of high energy ultrasound waves on a small spot. Depending on a transmitter used, it is possible to focus the high-energy sound wave on various skin depths (from 1.5 mm through 3.00 up to 4.5 mm deep).
This area is ablated and two essential processes occur in tissues: + thermal – tissues are warmed due to the absorption of focused ultrasound waves. The result is coagulation of collagen tissues that become shorter, which results in the first and immediate lifting effect. + mechanical – following the tissue penetration of an ultrasound wave, an encountered cells’ structure is broke down. The result of the thermal and mechanical cells damage is an immediate tissue concentration and body stimulation, as a defensive reaction, to natural processes of regeneration, healing and reconstruction of structure damaged by the procedure, which results in: + skin lifting and ‘concentration’ + a visible reduction of flabby skin + collagen regeneration (collagen biosynthesis) + the improvement of skin elasticity (firmness) + deep wrinkle reduction + eyebrow lifting + the improvement of a face oval + lifting of sagging cheeks + the significant and permanent improvement of a general look of skin and neckline
